I started working as a vet in the days when we never quite knew what or who was going to come through the door, whether it be a snake, a chicken or a fish in a bucket. When I worked in London, one of my patients was a Brazilian kinkajou owned by a circus trapeze artist!
Veterinary medicine has moved on since then and I now leave the more exotic patients to the specialists. I am more than happy to look after all the lovely cats, dogs and small furry creatures who come to see me.
I have worked in the Walton area for more than 30 years, and as some of you will know, it has been my pleasure and privilege to get to know several generations of your families and have shared in your joys and heartaches over the years.
One of the best parts of the job for me is building relationships with owners and animals. Veterinary medicine involves a lot of problem solving and in doing that, I can work together with you to find the best way forward for you and your pet, which is incredibly important and rewarding.
Thank you for joining our new practice. We look forward to seeing you very soon.
Hello and welcome to Cottimore Vets
My name is Emma Young and I am a registered Veterinary Nurse with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice.
Animals are my passion and I love being a veterinary nurse. Much of my career has been spent in orthopaedic referral, during which time I gained a special interest in canine injury and rehabilitation. This led me to train as a clinical canine massage therapist. This therapy has taken me to Battersea Dogs home in London where I volunteered one day a week, applying this hugely beneficial therapy to the dogs in the hospital and rehoming kennels. I also have a keen interest in small animal behaviour and nutrition. I like to work hard to provide a safe and calm environment for you and your pet when you visit us at Cottimore Vets, and I welcome the opportunity to assist you with any questions and queries so that we can keep all of our pets happy and healthy going forward.
